The little unwanted space that drives you nuts - a Gmail hate story

Is Gmail pushing your email to the right and your patience to oblivion? Sweet Jesus, it does! Gmail is problematic. For example, I used to notice sometimes a space on the left of the emails I just finished coding. Is not a big deal as long as it doesn't give you horizontal scroll - but don't you hate that bottom bar when you see it? I do!

So after looking into it I found that putting min-width:100% along with width:100% on the table helps. No more horizontal scrolling, no more space on the left of the newsletters.

Here is how I do it:

<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="min-width:100%" width="100%">
   <tr>
      <td>Your awesome message!</td>
   </tr>
</table>

Happy coding! Your friend, the email snob.
